Non-Alcoholic Holiday Drinks

A nice, warm cup of apple cider.

Maybe there are a lot of kids around, maybe some non-drinkers are coming to your Mission Place apartment, or maybe you just want to skip the booze at your holiday parties this year. Whatever the reason, we have three delicious recipes that put some modern twists on your favorite holiday drinks, all three of them alcohol-free. If you try these recipes, we promise that you’ll still have a blast at your Jessup, MD parties.

Pink Grapefruit “Margaritas”
While obviously not a margarita by technical definition, this non-alcoholic pink drink is a great treat for children or anyone with a sweet tooth. With just the right amount of tang to complement it, everyone will be clamoring for this drink. To make it, all you will need is two tablespoons of sugar, one lime, two tablespoons of pomegranate syrup, and one-and-a-half cups of pink grapefruit juice.

Black-Currant Cider Sparklers
This drink is perfect for something with a little bit of variety. It can be prepared deliciously with pomegranate, cranberry, or grape juice, depending on what types of flavors you enjoy the most. To prepare this versatile drink, you’ll need a fourth of a cup of pomegranate, cranberry, or grape juice, a fourth of a cup of black-currant juice, two teaspoons of fresh lemon juice, one-and-a-half cups of chilled sparkling cider, and lemon peels to garnish. This recipe makes just enough for two people, so it’s perfect to share a drink with a close friend or family member.

Apple Pie Spiced Cider
This is the perfect beverage to cozy up with by the fire and drink while reading a good book. It’s a classic apple cider with all of the common ingredients that you would find in a traditional apple pie. To prepare this warm drink, you’ll need one-and-a-fourth quarts of apple cider, seven cinnamon sticks, one-half a teaspoon of ground ginger, freshly grated nutmeg, three tablespoons of firmly packed brown sugar, one teaspoon of ground allspice, ground cloves, and salt.

We all love a good drink, but sometimes the situation calls for a little something without a kick. Try these recipes and let us know what you think! Thanks for reading our blog this month.
